We’ve been developing a custom “plug transplant” growing system for quite a few years now, and in the learning process we’ve made [and continue to make] a lot of mistakes. We end up with evergreens sporting great root systems but top growth which is small or damaged [aborted top buds, split tops, under-fertilization, frost damage, small size, etc]. These otherwise healthy trees are often called “conservation grade” or “park grade” trees. Since we try to ship up to a standard, not down to a price, we occasionally end up with a large number of these healthy but ugly duckling trees.
AVAILABLE CONSERVATION GRADE SPECIES: Balsam Fir, Fraser Fir, and a very small number of other spruce and pine species. To request one of these species or a specific combination, please send a follow up email after ordering, or reply to your automated receipt after checkout. We will do our best to fulfill your species request or advise you otherwise.PLANT EVERGREEN TREES IN RECORD TIME:
Watch how to plant evergreen plug transplants faster [YouTube] and with less effort than any traditional "bare root" evergreen transplant of a similar size. You can realistically plant 50 to 100 plug transplants per hour without breaking your back, using just a cordless drill and our plug-transplant-sized bulb auger. FREE AUGER WITH PURCHASE OF 50 PLUG TRANSPLANTS, $17.00 with any tree purchase, or $27.00 shipped to your door [int'l shipping is extra].

Soil conservation districts around the country buy “conservation grade” transplants to replant wild areas and return deforested areas back to their original splendor. But because they generally plant in remote areas, soil conservation districts are only concerned with healthy and cheap, not with pretty “specimen quality”. Conservation grade transplants become pretty within a few years of their own accord, with the end result being healthy, mature evergreens at low cost to county and state budgets. You too can take advantage of the cost savings of the “conservation grade” approach for your own planting project.
These specific evergreen plugs are available and shipping now. If you’d like to delay shipment to later on in Spring 2019, please specify that date in a follow up email after placing your order. However, shipping ends for these plug seedlings by mid-June 2019.
Plug transplants are shipped in bundles, but we offer individual plastic packaging, eco-friendly packaging, cotton gift bag packaging and custom laser cut pendants for all sizes of plug seedlings and plug transplants, sold separately in matching quantities.
