Somewhat rare in nature due to their small native range, the fantastic characteristics of Fraser Fir as a Christmas tree make them quite popular in a tree farm.<\/p>\n<p>Fraser Fir reach a maximum height of 80 feet at maturity, and will flourish in fertile, rocky &amp; sandy soils which are slightly acidic. In any case, they must have good drainage. They are somewhat tolerant of shade, but prefer full sun. A good rule of thumb is to plant them from Tennessee north, but you can also plant them in areas of higher elevation.\u00a0A &#8220;true Fir&#8221;, this is the only species of Fir which is native to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.<\/p>\n<p>Fraser Fir [in species and characteristics] are so similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nurserymen.com\/store\/balsam-fir-transplants\/\">Balsam Fir<\/a> that scientists agree that not too long ago they were exactly the same.
