Unlike many of the faster growing evergreen species, a Black Hills becomes a fantastic visual barrier and windbreak as the tree matures.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>SOLD OUT till Fall 2026, no other options available for this species<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s short bright bluish green needles and conical shape makes this conifer species a landscaper&#8217;s friend, one which can be planted and trimmed almost like a hedge. Once established, this species is a very tough tree, virtually immune to the most common spruce pests and very tolerant of drying winter winds.<\/p>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p>Because of these characteristics, Black Hills are ideal as an ornamental, privacy screen or windbreak. With some patience with it&#8217;s slower growth, this species can reach heights of up to 50 feet over a life span of up to 300 years.<\/p>\n<p>Although named after the South Dakota region in which it is naturally found, Black Hills Spruce actually thrive in a much wider range of cooler, moist regions.
