Concolor Fir are somewhat similar in overall shape, color and appearance to the Colorado Blue Spruce<\/a>, meaning it is a very attractive tree with lots of uses from privacy to ornamentation. However, this species is very different in that it features needles which are quite long and very soft. Concolor Fir are fast growing, can grow as high as 70 feet and live over 300 years.<\/p>\n

Concolor Fir are widely used as ornamental trees and thrive all over the Eastern US, and grow naturally from the Rocky Mountains all the way to the West Coast. The seed cones of Abies concolor, once the tree has matured, are about 4 inches long on average, and point up instead of down as with most other evergreens.
