What is an evergreen seedling JUMBO plug?

Almost identical to our evergreen seedling plugs, the jumbo "plug" of peat moss and other organic material into which the roots have have grown is much larger than our plug seedlings, resulting in a much more robust root system. The fabric bags holding the plug dirt together will have already begun to dissolve slightly by the time your trees ship, and the roots will begin bursting through the fabric as soon as the trees are planted. The fabric itself will disappear completely within a year, and therefore does not need to be removed. Jumbo plugs experience much less stress during transplanting as bareroot trees often do, and can be planted at almost any time of year. In many situations, fall-planted plugs already have good root development before bud break and put on more growth before the heat of summer sets in. They tend to reach a more mature height at an earlier age, and their well developed and undisturbed root systems make them more resistant to drought conditions. Our jumbo evergreen seedling plug sizes range from 6 to 14 inches, depending on species [height does not include the root plug].
